OUR SERVICES

We Offer a Range of
Services to Local Veteran Members

EDUCATION

We educate veterans of all the benefits that are still available to them once they have separated from the military.

WORN FLAG DISPOSAL

We accept all worn flags from the community once they have been deemed as worn out, faded, torn. We dispose of all flags with dignity such as being burnt in a large fire ceromony after being folded as being recommended by the U.S. Flag code. At times they may be donated to a funeral home, where a veteran  is covered with it prior to cremation.

WREATH LAYING

VR veteran group along with other veteran groups participate yearly in the National Wreath Across America held in December during the holiday to honor fallen service members, with major ceremonies also occurring on Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

LOCAL VETERANS' FUNERAL SERVICES

VR veterans will attempt to attend all veteran funeral services. It provides comfort and pride to the grieving family, showing their loved one's service was recognized.

HOSPICE AND MEDICAL VISITS TO LOCAL VETERANS

As our Core Values state Veterans for Veterans. Once we are notified of any veteran in a Hospice facility or at a hospital, we will coordinate with the hospice facility or family for permission to visit the veteran. At times the veteran know longer has any living family and we want to ensure that the veteran knows that they are our brother or sister.

LOCAL COMMUNITY VETERANS EVENTS

Fairs to connect veterans with benefits, Social Networking, Community and Recreation, Recognition and Commemoration.

LOCAL SCHOOL VISITS

Every year we will make visits to the local High school and Elementary schools on Veterans Day  week. This is an opportunity for veterans to discuss with the students their experience in the military and most important to educate the students of what Veterans Day means.  Also, it gives the students the opportunity to ask veterans any questions they may have about the military, some students are preparing to enlist in the military after graduation.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

Every second Thursday of the month, the Villa Rica Military Veterans Association meet at 9AM at the Villa Rica Library. We welcome all veterans to come join us to have some coffee and make a new friend while you are there. We would like to schedule an evening time at a location sometime in the near future to hopefully be able to invite veterans who are not able to attend in the mornings due to their work schedule
