ABOUT US

We are a patriotic, historical and educational organization; to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead and to assist their widows and orphans, to maintain true allegiance and fidelity to the Constitution of the United States and of the Villa Rica Military Veterans Association, and its By-Laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom; to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies, whosoever.

History

John Hannabach started the Villa Rica Veterans Military association in 2018 with only six members. John is a Korean Veteran and has lived in Villa Rica for several years.

He realized that in Villa Rica there are over seven hundred veterans that live there and wondered why there was no veteran's memorial in VR.

In 2025 John along with several other veterans attended the city council meeting that is held monthly and informed the city council of VR the number of veterans that reside in VR and the importance of having land donated to build a veteran's memorial.

After attending several city councils' meetings, the city council donated land to the Villa Rica Veterans group in 2025.

Moving forward now in 2026 the Villa Rica Veterans group is now at 52 veterans who attend monthly meetings and are strongly engaged in getting a veterans memorial built with community fundraisers and donations.
